Spring Snow Blankets Rochester Red Wings’ Stadium leading team to tweet epic photo – CBS New York

ROCHESTER, NY (CBSNewYork) – The return of baseball season normally means the weather is starting to heat up and it’s time to get out and soak up the sun. However, wintry weather arrived in Rochester today and the Red Wings, the AAA minor league affiliate of the Washington Nationals, were not happy.

The team posted a photo on their Twitter account of the snow covered pitch and stadium and just behind home plate was short for a question many people in the area are probably asking right now.

The team account also had fun with the weather forecast the day before, posting a video of an employee walking into the team’s store and grabbing any available winter clothing inside.

On the bright side, the winter weather hasn’t affected the team’s games as minor league baseball season is still two weeks away. The Red Wings open their season with an away streak against the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs and Buffalo Bisons (neutral venue in Trenton, NJ) before returning home to face the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Rail Riders in Game 1. home opening on May 18. better by then.
