According to insiders, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation will have to pay Rs 35,000 as rent to each tractor driver and these drivers will also receive accommodation costs. “It’s a huge sum. This means that the Srinagar Municipal Corporation will spend over half a crore rupee on snow removal in Srinagar between December 4 and January 4 and who knows that the rental period for these tractors may be extended, ”they said.
