High impact spring snow causing delays
Much of Colorado is covered in a layer of powder snow as it was hit by overnight snow showers, creating unsafe conditions for drivers. The weather is still in the region with chances for more snow Friday evening and again Monday.
Winter has made a comeback, #Denver. If you have to hit the road this morning, commute carefully and remember:

Interstate 70 is open just after 8 a.m. It was closed due to poor weather conditions from Limon to Burlington for hours earlier in the morning.
US Highway 36 is closed in each direction from Last Chance to the Kansas State border due to poor winter driving conditions. CDOT says to expect long delays or look for an alternate route.
An accident slows the westbound lanes of Highway 36 at 92nd Avenue in Westminster.
A previous crash on Interstate-25 and Colorado Boulevard, which has been cleaned up, still leaves big delays near the Denver Tech Center.
Side streets around the state are covered in wet snow. This caused the downfall of power lines on the streets of Denver, closing 14th Street on Capitol Hill.

There are chain and traction laws for most country roads. Non-chaining commercial vehicles caused a significant pullback early this morning near Floyd Hill.

How many tickets do you want me to write to truckers without a chain? I can’t even see the end of the line!
