fresh snow this week just in time for Easter weekend
For the past week, the eastern plains of Colorado have been plagued by dry air, wind and fire danger. But under a westerly jet stream, it can lead to snowmaking upriver in the mountains.
The big winners this week are Aspen Snowmass at 23″ and Winter Park at 20″ of snow in the last 3 days.
The blustery westerly winds continue over the weekend, with constant gusts of 30-40 mph in the high country. Light flurries are also possible throughout the weekend, with totals in the range of 1 to 4 inches for the central and northern mountains, mostly missing the San Juans.
