First snowfall observed in central Seoul today … Rain and snow forecast until tomorrow
As the unusually cold weather continues, the first snowfall of the season is seen in many parts of the country. We saw snow yesterday in some mountainous areas in the capital region. But, the first snowfall in the heart of Seoul was officially recorded early this morning by the Jongno-gu District Weather Observation Center. That’s about 30 days earlier than last year’s official record.
Rain and snow will cover the country again. Until tomorrow, the southern provinces of Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon-do, Chungcheong-do and southern regions will experience light showers of 5 to 20 millimeters. For mountainous areas of Jeju Island, where heavy snowfall advisories are issued, snowfall of 3 to 8 centimeters is expected.
Morning lows will be about 1 to 2 degrees lower than today. Chuncheon will be very cold to minus 2 degrees Celsius.
Daytime temperatures will be about 3 to 4 degrees cooler than the seasonal average. Seoul will get up to 9 degrees. Busan 14, Daejeon and Gwangju 12 degrees.
Temperatures will be on a downward trend until this Friday. The freezing conditions will start to ease this weekend.
That’s all for now, and here are the weather conditions around the world.
